The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Association announced on the 10th that they will focus on promoting stay-type tourism such as 'workation' and 'night tourism' at the '2024 NaeNara Travel Expo.'
The Korea Tourism Association will create a special zone dedicated to promoting stay-type tourism at the expo, which will be held from the 28th to the 31st at the aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Alongside this, a Workation Conference will also be held.
The association plans to integrate and promote information related to 'workation' and 'night tourism specialized cities,' which have been sporadically implemented nationwide.
Through this, they aim to broaden consensus on the positive impacts of stay-type tourism, such as direct expenditure effects, production, and employment inducement effects. Additionally, a platform will be provided for local governments, related organizations, industry players, and visitors to exchange and communicate information related to stay-type tourism.
On the 29th, a 'Workation Conference' will be held in the Changjo Room on the 4th floor of the aT Center, where the expo is taking place, to conduct a forum for revitalizing stay-type tourism. Notable figures in the workation field, including government officials, Yang Young-jun, CEO of YJ Company, Kim Jin-gak, professor at Sungshin Women’s University, Bae Hee-geon, team leader at Seoul Business Agency, Lee Tae-gyeom, research fellow at the Korea Island Promotion Agency, and Shin Dong-hoon, CEO of Streaming House, will participate on-site.
