Construction of 'Je2 Gyeonggi School Art Creation Center' in Yangju... Completion in 2026

The '2nd Gyeonggi School Arts Creation Center' will be established in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province.


On the 8th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced that on the 7th, it signed a business agreement with Yangju City Hall to establish the 2nd Gyeonggi School Arts Creation Center.


The 2nd Gyeonggi School Arts Creation Center will be created as an art space for students and citizens using the school site and buildings following the relocation and replacement of Cheonbo Elementary School. Design work will begin this year, construction will start next year along with the relocation of Cheonbo Elementary School, and it is scheduled to be completed in March 2026.


The Provincial Office of Education plans to collaborate with Yangju City to develop the space into a complex art space for both students and citizens.

Through this business agreement, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in various fields including ▲student education spaces for artistic giftedness and art experience education ▲art spaces for the lives of all citizens ▲community-linked art education ▲consultation and expert participation support.


Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Education, stated, "In shared schools operating art programs, the base of art education expands and children can grow in a balanced way," emphasizing, "Emotional sensitivity through art, physical strength through sports, and intellect through academics must be balanced."


He also suggested, "If there is no space inside the school, we should utilize outside the school, and by leveraging both internal and external school capabilities, we must realize the education that children want to pursue more," adding, "For various necessary aspects, let's create balanced education between southern and northern Gyeonggi through consultation with the Provincial Office of Education."
