Daegu to Field Candidates from One New Progressive Alliance and Two Progressive Party Locations... Agreement on Electoral Coalition with Democratic Party

The Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party held a signing ceremony for the election alliance agreement of Daegu democratic progressive parties (Democratic Party of Korea, New Progressive Alliance, Progressive Party) at 11 a.m. on the 6th at the Kim Dae-jung Hall of the Daegu City Party.


On this day, the Democratic Party of Korea participated with Kang Min-gu, Daegu City Party Chairman (Suseong-gu (Gap) preliminary candidate), Shin Hyo-cheol, Dong-gu (Gap) preliminary candidate, Lee Seung-cheon, Dong-gu (Eul) preliminary candidate, Shin Dong-hwan, Buk-gu (Eul) preliminary candidate, Kwon Taek-heung, Dalseo-gu (Gap) preliminary candidate, Kim Sung-tae, Dalseo-gu (Eul) preliminary candidate, and Park Jeong-hee, expected candidate for Buk-gu (Gap). From the New Progressive Alliance, Yong Hye-in, co-representative, and Shin Won-ho, Daegu City Party Chairman, attended, and from the Progressive Party, Hwang Soon-gyu, Daegu City Party Chairman, Choi Young-ho, Dalseo-gu (Byeong) preliminary candidate, Lee Dae-dong, secretary-general, and about 100 members from each party attended.

Kang Min-gu, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party, said, “Today is a meaningful day. We have come together through an agreement with democratic progressive parties including the Democratic Party of Korea to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol government and create a Daegu that reflects the will of more diverse citizens.” He added, “We will take the lead in restoring the lives of citizens damaged by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. Please watch over the democratic progressive parties.”


Yong Hye-in, co-representative of the New Progressive Alliance, said, “In Daegu, the Democratic Party of Korea, the Progressive Party, and the New Progressive Alliance aim to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol government through an election alliance. We sincerely thank all the candidates who will create a wind to lead the victory of the democratic reform camp and will make an election where democracy wins.”


Shin Won-ho, Daegu City Party Chairman of the New Progressive Alliance, said, “We have come this far after thinking about this issue together for a long time. We united for the cause of solidarity according to the proportional party agreement. The New Progressive Alliance has decided to field a candidate in Suseong-gu (Eul).”


Hwang Soon-gyu, Daegu City Party Chairman of the Progressive Party, said, “This election will not be easy for the opposition camp. However, the democratic progressive parties united today will be able to overcome it by joining forces. The Progressive Party will field Hwang Soon-gyu in Dong-gu (Eul) and Choi Young-ho in Dalseo-gu (Byeong).”
