Hyundai Movex announced on the 6th that it has won the contract to build a smart logistics system for EcoPro BM's Quebec plant in Canada.
Earlier, in January of this year, they signed an integrated logistics automation supply contract worth 20 billion KRW. The project started this month and is scheduled to be completed by 2026. This plant is a large-scale cathode material factory jointly established by EcoPro BM, SK On, and Ford. Once completed, the annual production capacity will be 45,000 tons (equivalent to 540,000 electric vehicles).
Hyundai Movex will provide an automated warehouse system and various core logistics solutions necessary for the cathode material process at this plant. They will supply advanced equipment such as 2nd generation stacker cranes, unmanned transfer robots, high-speed vertical conveyors, and a WMS that integrates and controls these systems. The unmanned transfer robots supplied this time are models capable of omnidirectional autonomous driving. More than 20 units will be deployed in the cathode material process.
Since entering the secondary battery smart logistics business last year, Hyundai Movex has steadily expanded its new business areas from battery processes to the materials sector. The company stated, "We will contribute with the optimal smart logistics system to the stable establishment of our client's North American cathode material supply chain."
