Jeonbuk National University (President Yang Obong) announced on the 5th that it has been selected for the "1,000 Won Breakfast" project, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries since last year, and will actively expand and provide breakfast support to students this year as well.
According to Jeonbuk National University, this project is President Yang's pledge to realize student-centered welfare. Last year, a total of 17,400 students were provided with 1,000 Won Breakfast, serving 150 students per day.

From 8:20 a.m., at the Husaeng Hall, the student cafeteria of Jeonbuk National University, President Yang Obong, Alumni Association President Choi Byungseon, and other key university and alumni officials personally joined the students for their new semester breakfast.
President Yang and President Choi, who have a special affection for this project, spent time communicating and encouraging the students.
The menu included a hearty and nutritious breakfast meal featuring dried pollack soup, stir-fried beef bulgogi with glass noodles, braised quail eggs, and fruit salad.
This project, supported jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the university, provides high-quality meals at 1,000 Won to college students who have a high rate of skipping breakfast, aiming to promote habitual breakfast eating and the culture of rice consumption.
This year, the government support unit price increased by 1,000 Won compared to last year, and the meal unit price also rose from 4,500 Won to 5,000 Won, expected to provide higher quality breakfasts to more students.
President Yang said, "I am pleased to start the new semester with students through the 1,000 Won Breakfast by further increasing the support scale this year," adding, "We will continue to expand support so that many students can benefit."
Alumni Association President Choi Byungseon said, "I am glad that the 1,000 Won Breakfast, which our alumni association started and spread, is benefiting even more students than last year," and added, "We will gather the hearts of alumni to expand this to midterm exam snack sharing and dinner so that juniors can start their day with strength."
