Hanwha Advanced Materials Targets European Electric Vehicle and Eco-Friendly Market with Lightweight Composite Materials

Participation in 'JEC WORLD 2024' in Paris, France from May 5 to 7

Hanwha Advanced Materials will participate in the international composite materials exhibition ‘JEC WORLD 2024’ held in Paris, France from the 5th to the 7th (local time) to showcase the latest composite materials technology.


This event is the world's largest composite materials and applications exhibition, with about 43,500 participants from 1,500 companies across 116 countries this year.


At this exhibition, Hanwha Advanced Materials will unveil various materials and components developed targeting electric vehicles and various eco-friendly products.


In the electric vehicle sector, composite materials for battery housings for electric vehicles (Enhanced SMC material) that are about 30% lighter compared to aluminum, recyclable electric vehicle protection covers and truck beds, and Frunk (a portmanteau of front and trunk) parts that utilize the engine room as a cargo space will be exhibited.

Natural fiber-based undercovers developed to target the global eco-friendly market and ECO-GMT (glass fiber reinforced composite material) made from recycled raw materials are also key exhibition items.


Additionally, polypropylene (PP) material oil & gas pipe stiffness reinforcement tape developed to replace the steel pipe market, carbon fiber composite nacelle parts for urban air mobility (UAM) electric propulsion system protection, and thermoplastic carbon fiber composite powerpack ducts for hydrogen fuel cell drones will be introduced.
