POSCO Group will showcase the present and future of the group's secondary battery materials business at 'InterBattery 2024,' held from the 6th to the 8th at COEX in Seoul.
On the 5th, POSCO Group announced that under the leadership of POSCO Holdings, it will introduce the entire value chain of the group's secondary battery materials, encompassing POSCO, POSCO International, and POSCO Future M.
Until last year, POSCO Future M represented the group, focusing on the anode and cathode materials business, but this year, under POSCO Holdings' leadership, the scope has expanded to include the production stage of raw materials for secondary battery materials.
This year, the booth size has also increased by about 30% compared to the previous year to 360㎡, and a circular model and a media wall for videos, which allow visitors to see the composition and flow of the secondary battery materials value chain at a glance, have been placed as the main exhibits in the center of the exhibition hall.
In particular, POSCO Group has prepared a special lithium booth with significant emphasis, as it completed a hydroxide lithium plant based on ore lithium in the Yeolchun Industrial Complex, Jeonnam, last year, and is scheduled to complete a hydroxide lithium plant based on brine lithium in Argentina in the first half of this year.
Kim Jun-hyung, Head of Eco-friendly Future Materials at POSCO Holdings, said, "We will maintain the established '2030 Secondary Battery Materials Business Strategy' as it is," adding, "We promise to strengthen business competitiveness based on POSCO's proprietary technology and stand tall as a global leading company."
