From March to May, Creative Works by Park Haegyu Displayed on City Hall Exterior Wall

"Walking Together Becomes a Flower Path, Going Together Becomes a Spring Path"

Busan City has selected the spring edition phrase for the 2024 Busan Cultural Billboard and will display it on the exterior wall of Busan City Hall for about three months until May.

This spring phrase is a creative work by Mr. Park Haegyu titled "Together, the path becomes a flower road, and walking together becomes a spring road."

A total of 985 entries were received during the one-month contest held in January. After two preliminary screenings, 40 works advanced to the final judging. The final phrase was selected through a fair evaluation by the Busan Writers' Association.

Chairman Lee Seokrae of the judging panel (Busan Writers' Association) stated during the selection process, “We set the judging criteria to choose comfortable and warm phrases that directly reach citizens rather than metaphorical poetic structures or unique poetic words and phrases.” He added, “We hope the selected phrase will serve as a strong support to overcome current hardships and uplift spirits, and that it will be a time to feel the sounds of spring and life.”

Kim Jongseok, Director of the Housing and Architecture Bureau of Busan City, said, “In the ongoing economic downturn, we hope this spring phrase will be a message that gives warm hope to the citizens.”

The call for entries for the 2024 Busan Cultural Billboard summer edition phrase is scheduled to be held in April. The phrase should be a short sentence within 25 characters that allows citizens to feel love, hope, and warm affection. Both original works and excerpts from literary works are acceptable.

The winner will receive a cultural gift certificate worth 300,000 KRW, and 17 runners-up will each receive a cultural gift certificate worth 30,000 KRW.
