Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is recruiting street artists to participate in the '2024 Gangnam Happiness Concert (hereinafter Happiness Concert)' from the 5th to the 15th.

Anyone aged 19 or older, whether an individual or a group, who can perform street shows with cultural and artistic works such as classical music, popular music, jazz, gugak, magic, and dance can apply.

The selected performance teams will showcase street performances throughout Gangnam-gu from March to December, and will be paid a performance fee of 200,000 KRW per person, up to a maximum of 800,000 KRW.

Those who wish to participate should submit application documents along with a performance video (within 4 minutes, URL link) via email. Afterwards, judges will comprehensively evaluate the applicants' performance skills and communication ability with the audience based on the submitted videos to select about 40 final performance teams. Meanwhile, the Happiness Concert, held since 2019, is a cultural event where street artists present performances in various genres at open spaces within Gangnam-gu such as COEX, Yangjaecheon, and Apgujeong Rodeo to offer comfort to residents tired of daily life. Last year, a total of 56 teams and 173 street artists participated.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “The Happiness Concert is a representative program of the cultural city Gangnam where people can heal through art in their daily lives without going far,” and added, “We hope many talented artists will participate again this year.”
