[Featured Stock] Qualitas Semiconductor's Technology Driving AI Speed... Also Responding to 10x Growth in Chiplet Market

Qualitas Semiconductor is showing strong performance. As advanced industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving develop, the explosive increase in data transmission volume is expected to benefit the company, according to securities firm analysis influencing the stock price.

As of 11:08 AM on the 4th, Qualitas Semiconductor was trading at 37,600 KRW, up 4,150 KRW (12.41%) compared to the previous trading day.

Jung Min-kyu, a researcher at Sangsangin Securities, explained, "The ‘ultra-high-speed interconnect’ technology that transmits data between devices is gaining attention," adding, "Demand for Qualitas Semiconductor’s interface IPs such as PCIe, UCIe, MIPI, eDP, and 100G SERDES is increasing."

He continued, "The main applications utilizing these IPs include CPU, GPU, SSD (PCIe), SoC (UCIe), display panels (eDP), camera modules (MIPI), and data centers (100G SERDES)," he added.

Researcher Jung emphasized, "PCIe is the fastest universal interface," and noted, "Recently, PCIe has been highlighted as an interface suitable for AI as well." He analyzed, "PCIe 4.0 offers speeds of 16GT/s, and the next generations (PCIe 5.0, 6.0) will provide double the speed increases."

He also explained, "Starting with Intel’s Sapphire Rapids, PCIe 5.0 has become mainstream," and added, "Qualitas Semiconductor is gaining recognition for its technological capabilities while developing the next-generation interface PCIe 6.0."

AI functions involve training on vast amounts of data. Large volumes of data must be transmitted from the CPU’s commands to the GPU, HBM, and others. If the command transmission speed is slow, the overall speed can be slow even if computation is fast. As AI blooms, interfaces are being replaced with expensive IPs. PCIe 4.0 is an older technology, and as the importance of transmission speeds of PCIe 5.0 and 6.0 grows, Qualitas Semiconductor’s business opportunities are increasing. Although PCIe is universal, it is a high-speed interface with high utility. Discussions are underway to apply the fast PCIe to CXL, drawing attention to Qualitas Semiconductor.

Researcher Jung forecasted, "As data transmission volume increases, demand for SoCs and chiplets is also rising," and predicted, "The chiplet market is expected to grow about 10 times from 2024 to reach $57 billion by 2035." He introduced, "Qualitas Semiconductor is also conducting research and development on the chiplet standard interface UCIe," and said, "They are preparing to secure license revenue in line with market development."
