Bio Korea is an event that promotes the Korean biohealth industry to the world and provides a platform for business activation and technology exchange between domestic and international companies. At Bio Korea 2023 held last May, 782 participants from 51 countries and over 29,400 visitors gathered. This year, Bio Korea will be held from May 8 to 10 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Business partnering is one of the main programs of Bio Korea. It offers 1:1 meeting opportunities between domestic and international bio and health sector companies and institutions, allowing discussions on various business opportunities and research collaborations such as joint research, market entry, and technology transactions. Last year, 1,320 business meetings were conducted. Especially this year, the business partnering center will be expanded to provide participating companies with more opportunities for business exchanges.

Business partnering will be operated both online and offline simultaneously during the three days of Bio Korea. In particular, online meetings will be available 24 hours to facilitate smooth meetings with overseas companies. Participants wishing to join business partnering must register under either 'Full Convention Access (FCA)' or 'Online Partnering Access (OPA)'.

Meanwhile, the institute stated that due to growing interest from domestic and international companies in Bio Korea, the recruitment of exhibition participants was closed early this year. Delegations will be operated by the Swedish Trade and Investment Council, the Embassy of Denmark in Korea, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, and BIOCOM California from the United States, with participation expected from at least 50 overseas companies and research institutes. National pavilion booths will also be set up by Germany, Thailand, Taiwan, and others, with a more diverse range of local companies visiting compared to previous years to seek business opportunities with domestic companies.

In particular, an AI special pavilion composed of digital healthcare companies and an advanced regenerative medicine exhibition booth jointly organized and operated by the Regenerative Medicine Promotion Foundation, the Pan-Governmental Regenerative Medicine Technology Development Project Group, and the Advanced Regenerative Medicine Industry Association will be set up and operated. The advanced regenerative medicine booth will feature about 20 companies and related institutions involved in contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) in regenerative medicine, cell and gene therapies, and immune cell therapies, including Jinmedisin, Pharmicell, and Rokit Healthcare, conducting business partnering.

An official from the institute said, "As demand for business exchanges among participating companies continues to grow, this year we will expand and operate the business partnering center and provide an active platform for technology transactions to lay the first stone for global cooperation."
