Moorim Launches Biodiversity Conservation Campaign to Commemorate 'World Wildlife Day'

Successful Campaign at Lotte World Aquarium

Murim announced on the 4th that it conducted a biodiversity conservation campaign to commemorate the UN-designated "World Wildlife Day (March 3rd)."

The "Protect the Beautiful Marine Life of Our Seas!" campaign, held on March 2nd and 3rd in collaboration with Lotte World Aquarium, took place at "Paperium," the industry's first forest-marine ecological hall specially created within Lotte World Aquarium by Murim to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values.

Murim decorated the campaign site with the industry's only low-carbon paper cups and new material paper filters developed with Wise & Erop, showcasing various educational experience kits such as videos, leaflets, and pop-up kits to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity conservation.

To raise interest in marine protected species endangered among Korea's marine animals, a special event was held, receiving enthusiastic responses from visitors. Participants learned about marine protected species inhabiting Korea, such as the finless porpoise, spotted seal, and snow crab, and pledged daily actions like purchasing eco-friendly paper products to protect these endangered species. Over 10,000 people participated in the event. Donations will be made to related environmental organizations corresponding to the number of visitors who took part in the event.

Meanwhile, all exhibition materials used in the campaign were produced using Murim's domestically unique "low-carbon paper" with low carbon emissions and "resource-circulating paper" recycled from discarded clothing. A Murim official stated, "In addition to informing general consumers about the eco-friendliness of paper, we will continue to prepare various activities that encourage the use of such eco-friendly products instead of plastic, thereby increasing interest in environmental protection activities such as biodiversity conservation."
