On the 29th of Last Month, Conducted Field Inspections of Construction Sites and Landslide-Prone Areas During Thaw Season
O Eonseok, the mayor of Dobong-gu, is visiting the construction site and discussing safety measures with the site manager.
"I will personally go out and work hard to make Dobong-gu safe."
On the 29th of last month, Oh Eon-seok, the mayor of Dobong-gu, visited safety-vulnerable facilities and areas prone to landslides, where the risk of safety accidents is high during the thawing season. This inspection, conducted together with relevant department staff and the Volunteer Disaster Prevention Group, was carried out to check construction sites in the area and to prevent any potential safety accidents.
On that day, Mayor Oh visited the apartment construction site in the Dobong 2 redevelopment zone and the mountain disaster prevention project area (Dobong-dong 288-3) to directly verify the establishment and implementation of safety management plans, ground subsidence around the construction site, cracks, and the impact on adjacent buildings.
Mayor Oh said, "I hope you will do your best to protect the lives and property of our residents from disasters through continuous inspections of landslide-prone areas, including prevention of retaining wall deformation, soil runoff, slope trimming, and hazardous tree maintenance. Please continue monitoring after the thawing season to manage additional risk factors."
Currently, Dobong-gu is conducting a comprehensive inspection of 110 construction sites and disaster-vulnerable facilities in the area during the thawing season, and is carrying out landslide prevention construction with the goal of completing all work before the rainy season.
With the launch of the 8th local government administration, Mayor Oh has elevated disaster safety as a core strategy of the district and is operating the district administration with residents' safety as the top priority. As part of this, the new "Mayor's Safety Patrol" project will be implemented this year.
The "Mayor's Safety Patrol" involves the mayor personally inspecting every corner of the district to immediately identify and swiftly resolve safety risk factors for residents.
The mayor will lead monthly on-site safety inspections considering seasonal and timely risk factors, including ▲spreading de-icing agents ▲fire prevention ▲inspection of facilities such as steep slopes ▲construction site safety and inspection of old houses ▲monitoring drainage channels, rainwater inlets, and flood-prone areas ▲checking operation of heat relief shelters and shade structures ▲monitoring hazardous facilities in preparation for heavy rain and typhoons.
Oh Eon-seok, mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I will continuously strive for the safety of our residents and will keep exploring various measures to achieve this."
Meanwhile, on February 5-6, Mayor Oh visited traditional markets to conduct fire safety inspections and fire prevention safety culture campaigns with the Volunteer Disaster Prevention Group, and on the 13th of the same month, he inspected the Jungnangcheon Healing Trail construction site.
