Handonghun "New wine in new bottles? Lee Jaemyung's reshuffle is a nomination of stagnant water"

Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's 'wholesale replacement nomination' as "a flattery competition invoking the Gospel of Matthew."

On the 3rd, Han told reporters, "'New wine in new wineskins,' as Representative Lee Jae-myung said, but what is the new wine, and what are the new wineskins?"

This was a criticism of Representative Lee Jae-myung's quotation of the phrase "new wine in new wineskins" from the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible to emphasize personnel renewal in the last month's general election nominations.

Han Dong-hoon pointed out, "(The new wine) is all people like Kim Woo-young," adding, "(With the replacement) worse water, dirtier water is coming in. That is not new water."

Kim Woo-young, Chairman of the Gangwon Province Democratic Party and former Standing Chairman of the pro-Lee Jae-myung faction's outside organization 'The Minjoo National Innovation Council,' is participating in the primary for Seoul Eunpyeong-eul, considered a 'sunny spot' for the Democratic Party.

Han also said, "Among those who were removed and inserted by the Democratic Party, show me even one person who fits the people's expectations, someone who is somewhat cool and stylish."

This remark appears to be a rebuttal to criticisms that the People Power Party's nominations involve relatively smaller-scale replacements, referred to as 'incumbent invincibility.'

Han said, "We have very few district lawmakers, about 80," adding, "Structurally, it is not easy for many incumbents to be eliminated."
