2024 External Public Project and External Agency Evaluation Promotion Report Meeting Held to Fully Respond to External Funding Attraction
115 Billion KRW in External Funding Secured During the 8th Elected Term... Plans to Actively Respond This Year as Well
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) held the '2024 External Public Project and External Institution Evaluation Promotion Report Meeting' on the 28th of last month to attract external funding and enhance its external status.
Presided over by Mayor Park Junhee, the report meeting was attended by all heads of departments and divisions of Gwanak-gu Office. It was organized to analyze the achievements of public projects and external evaluations in 2023, share key initiatives for 2024, and explore response strategies.
Last year, Gwanak-gu participated in various public projects across all fields. In particular, it stood out in public projects related to ▲startup and job support ▲revitalization of local commercial districts ▲urban environment improvement. It was selected for a total of 83 projects, including the Seoul Campus Town project and the Smart Village dissemination project, securing 27.5 billion KRW in project funds.
Additionally, it received a total of 53 awards in external institution evaluations. It achieved outstanding results such as winning the ‘Manifesto Excellent Case Competition’ for four consecutive years, the ‘National Local Government Job Award’ for two consecutive years, and attaining the highest grade (S) in the ‘Government Joint Evaluation’.
From July 2022 to December 2023, the district achieved a remarkable feat by attracting a total of 115 billion KRW in external funding through external public projects, external institution evaluations, special grants, and special subsidies, thereby establishing a financial foundation for the key projects of the 8th local government administration.
Furthermore, this year the district plans to newly build a database for efficient data management and upgrade the existing public project and external evaluation management system.
To attract even more external funding, it plans to discover and apply for additional public projects linked not only to existing public projects but also to the policy directions of the central government and Seoul City. Alongside this, it will actively respond to public projects from other public institutions.
It also plans to apply for various new types of external evaluations, including overseas evaluations, with innovative and excellent policy projects.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “This year is expected to be a particularly challenging time for local fiscal management, and attracting external funding is essential to stably carry out district projects. We will strive to secure external funding so that we can implement various projects beneficial to our residents and do our best to further enhance our district’s status through awards in external evaluations.”
