Haman-gun Holds Appointment Ceremony for Visiting Aragayaliteracy Class Instructors

To Promote Adult Literacy Education and Improve Basic Life Skills

On the 29th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam held a commissioning ceremony for 12 instructors of the Visiting Aragaya Literacy Class at the Lifelong Learning Center located on Jungangbuk-gil, Gaya-eup, Haman-gun.


The commissioning ceremony was organized to appoint and encourage adult literacy instructors to revitalize adult literacy education and improve basic life skills. The appointed instructors will work as instructors of the Aragaya Literacy Class, visiting village halls and senior centers in the towns and townships to conduct literacy classes.

One instructor said about the commissioning, “I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in adult literacy education by immersing myself in the lives of illiterate people, understanding and empathizing with them,” and added, “I look forward to my future activities as an adult literacy instructor.”


Meanwhile, starting from March, the county will operate the Visiting Aragaya Literacy Class twice a week for 4 hours each session at 25 village halls and senior centers within the jurisdiction. They plan to conduct literacy education special lectures using textbooks, create poetry and paintings, participate in the Gyeongnam Literacy Poetry Exhibition, hold poetry exhibitions, and literacy education completion ceremonies, along with various other activities.


The county also operates two “Elementary Level 1 Literacy Recognition Classes” for adults aged 19 and over who have no formal education to help them acquire academic qualifications.
