[Featured Stock] LaserOptek, European-Hyped Anti-Aging Beauty Laser... The 'Super Rookie' Shaking Up the Market

LaserOptek is showing strong performance. Since revealing clinical cases of anti-aging using the Pico laser Picolo Premium targeting Europeans, its stock price has continued to rebound.

As of 10:59 AM on the 29th, LaserOptek is trading at 12,830 KRW, up 16.33% from the previous day.

It entered the KOSDAQ market through a merger with Hana Financial 23 SPAC on the 1st. Although the stock price was sluggish afterward, it has recently bottomed out and is showing signs of recovery.

According to LaserOptek, Dr. Agnieszka Lew-Mirska, a key European doctor, introduced the 'Pico Sculpting' of Picolo Premium, specialized in anti-aging.

Pico Sculpting is a protocol specialized in anti-aging that uses the Picolo Premium Pico laser to improve jawline, cheek tightening, wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, whitening, tone improvement, and overall facial contour.

Dr. Lew-Mirska explained the process of inducing selective LIOB (Laser Induced Optical Breakdown) effects in each skin layer through the fractional handpiece Dia FX of Picolo Premium, and how collagen and elastin regeneration leads to skin regeneration, based on clinical cases of scar treatment.

Picolo Premium is a next-generation world-class product, an Nd:YAG-based picosecond laser device, with FDA indications including tattoo removal, pigment lesions, acne scar improvement, and wrinkle improvement.

A LaserOptek official stated, "Recently, interest in anti-aging and rejuvenation has been rising in Europe," adding, "Thanks to Pico Sculpting focused on this, Picolo Premium's upward trend in the European market is steep."

Founded in 2000, LaserOptek is a specialized company in laser-based medical devices. Based on differentiated technology, it possesses core component self-design capabilities and years of manufacturing know-how, leading the market with products not only for skin beauty but also for therapeutic laser devices. LaserOptek's laser equipment holds major global certifications such as FDA and CE, and is used in over 50 countries worldwide including the US, Europe, and Asia.

Si-on Kang, a researcher at Korea Investment & Securities, analyzed, "LaserOptek's strength lies in possessing all five core technologies required for laser device development: resonator, ultrashort pulse width, power supply design, wavelength modulation, and energy amplification," adding, "it is increasing its market share by replacing imported products not only in the beauty market but also in the treatment device market for skin diseases such as vitiligo and psoriasis."

He continued, "Next year, they plan to expand indications to vascular lesion treatment in addition to skin diseases," adding, "They aim to build a laser device portfolio covering the three major markets of beauty, disease, and surgery through a urology surgical laser currently under development, targeting release in 2027."

LaserOptek will participate in the 39th International Medical Devices & Hospital Equipment Exhibition 'KIMES 2024' held at COEX, Seoul, starting from the 14th of next month. The Palas Premium, which will be prominently showcased at the exhibition, is an eco-friendly laser that fits the ESG era as it does not generate expensive consumables or waste. It is used in hospitals for treating chronic skin diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo, having received the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service code.
