Seoul City Approves Original District Unit Plan for Haan Taekji District
Designates 9 Special Planning Zones and Provides Guidelines
The district unit plan designating the Haan Jugong Apartments in Gwangmyeong City, which have exceeded the 30-year reconstruction period, into nine special planning zones has passed the Seoul City review.
On the 29th, Seoul City announced that it approved the original draft of the Haan Residential District unit plan at the 2nd Urban and Architectural Joint Committee meeting held the previous day.
The target area is the Haan-dong area in Gwangmyeong City, which was developed under a past residential land development plan. The district unit plan was established to systematically manage the area and prepare maintenance standards for apartment complexes whose reconstruction period has arrived.
The main content of this district unit plan is to designate the 13 Haan Jugong Apartment complexes into nine special planning zones, providing guidelines on infrastructure, density, and building layout.
The Haan Jugong Apartments consist of 13 complexes, completed between 1989 and 1990, thus exceeding the 30-year reconstruction period. Some complexes have begun safety inspections for reconstruction projects and are preparing for designation as maintenance zones.
Since some parts of the district unit plan area fall within Seoul City's administrative jurisdiction, the plan had to undergo reviews by both Seoul City and Gwangmyeong City administrative bodies. Gwangmyeong City conditionally approved it at the Urban and Architectural Joint Committee meeting on December 28 of last year.
With Seoul City's approval of the original draft, the Haan Residential District unit plan is expected to be finalized and announced within the first half of the year.
