Operation of Agricultural Byproduct Shredding Support Team for
Wildfire Prevention and Fine Dust Reduction
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will support the first phase of agricultural byproduct shredding operations at 34 locations within the region from February to April.
This project, carried out in cooperation between the Gokseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center and the Forestry Department, prioritizes applications from farms near forests, elderly farmers, and vulnerable groups, providing on-site branch shredding support.
The project aims to prevent fine dust and forest fires, promote efficient collection and disposal of agricultural byproducts, and encourage recycling of shredded byproducts and circulation of agricultural resources.
To this end, the Agricultural Technology Center has formed a shredding support team and, in cooperation with the agricultural machinery rental office, rents shredders and conducts safety training. The project is scheduled to continue until April 26, with the first shredding demonstration held at farmland in Mokdong-ri, Godal-myeon.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "We hope this demonstration will improve residents' awareness of agricultural byproduct disposal," adding, "We plan to create a safe working environment for the shredding support team and conduct campaigns to prohibit burning and reduce fine dust."
