The Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association (hereinafter referred to as the MainBiz Association) elected Kim Myung-jin, CEO of Maeil Marine, as the 7th president at its 15th regular general meeting on the 28th.

Newly appointed President Kim Myung-jin participated as a founding member of the MainBiz Association in 2009. In his inaugural speech, President Kim stated, "In the midst of the digital transformation and the complex economic crisis following the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a time when leadership is needed to strengthen activities linked with government ministries and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund and to promote mutual growth between the metropolitan area and regional federations. Based on communicative and servant leadership, I will unite the association as one and support the innovative growth of member companies to lead MainBiz to become a key player in the Korean economy."

Seok Yong-chan, the former president who led the MainBiz Association for the past four years, took office in February 2020 and is credited with leading the association’s growth by revising the "Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Innovation Promotion Act," thereby establishing a legal foundation for promoting management innovation, a long-standing task of the association.

In his farewell speech, former President Seok said, "During the challenging four years that began amid the COVID-19 pandemic, under the slogan ‘MainBiz leading innovative growth in the digital economy era,’ I did my best to build a foundation for small and medium enterprises to grow into global mid-sized companies."

Meanwhile, the MainBiz Association operates the management innovation-type SME certification system and currently discovers and certifies about 23,000 management innovation-type SMEs. It is a small and medium business economic organization with approximately 5,000 regular member companies and 96 branches nationwide (7 federations).
