Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun held a Taegeukgi flag with kindergarten students and shouted "Long live Korean independence!"
On the 28th, Suwon City announced that it held the ‘105th Anniversary of the March 1st Movement Commemorative Taegeukgi Performance’ with Mayor Lee Jae-jun and students from Lira Kindergarten (Maetan-dong) in the lobby of the city hall main building.
Thirty-seven kindergarten students held Taegeukgi flags and formed the shapes of 3 and 1, with Mayor Lee Jae-jun standing at the center dot. Then, everyone shouted together, "Long live Korean independence!"
Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "We created an opportunity to reflect on the noble meaning of the March 1st Movement with the children who are the future of our country."
To mark the March 1st Movement Day, Suwon City has been holding the ‘National Symbol Taegeukgi Photo Exhibition’ in the lobby of the city hall main building since the 26th.
On the 28th, Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Suwon, is performing the Daehan Independence Manse performance with kindergarten students in the lobby of Suwon City Hall.
The exhibition displays 22 photos of Taegeukgi flags, including those held at the Independence Hall, treasure and nationally registered heritage Taegeukgi flags.
Among them are the ‘Kim Gu Signed Taegeukgi’ given by Kim Gu (1876?1949), the president of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, to Belgian Father Charles Miousse who traveled from China to the United States in 1941, as well as the ‘Korean Liberation Army Signed Taegeukgi’ and the ‘Taegeukgi Raised at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.’ The photo exhibition will be held until March 4.
Suwon City also hung a large Taegeukgi flag on the outer wall of the main building of the city hall.
