"Swift's Father Suddenly Charged and Threw a Punch"
Scott Swift, the father of global pop star Taylor Swift, is under police investigation in Australia for allegedly assaulting a paparazzi photographer. On the 26th (local time), the British Daily Mail reported that Scott is being investigated for assaulting photographer Ben McDonald, who is presumed to be a paparazzi, near the Neutral Bay pier.
Ben claimed, "Taylor got off a yacht at Neutral Bay, wearing an umbrella on her head, and came up the pier with security guards," adding, "The security guards pushed us away with umbrellas, but suddenly her father charged and threw a punch." He initially thought Scott was one of the security guards but was shocked to later learn he was Taylor Swift's father.
Ben also stated that there was another paparazzi present at the scene besides himself during the incident. He said, "The security guards were controlling the scene, so there was no need for (Scott) to throw a punch," calling it a "shocking incident." In response to the controversy, a Swift spokesperson released a statement claiming, "The photographers aggressively rushed toward Taylor," and "They also threatened to throw a female staff member into the water." However, Ben refuted this, saying, "The only woman present at the time was Swift."
Meanwhile, Swift won her fourth 'Album of the Year' trophy at the 66th Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles, USA, on the 4th, and last year, she was the first entertainment figure to be solely named Time magazine's 'Person of the Year.'
