Benoti&RL Accelerates Wearable Robot Business... Four-Party MOU with Simon Fraser University and Others

Benoti&AR, a KOSDAQ-listed company led by CEO Jeong Jib-hoon, announced on the 27th that it has signed a four-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Simon Fraser University in Canada, global wearable robot subsidiary Human in Motion Robotics, and Human in Motion Robotics Asia.

Through this agreement, Benoti&AR plans to seek successful commercialization strategies for its flagship product, the bipedal wearable robot Xomotion, and strengthen collaborative systems for continuous robot research and development. In particular, joint projects will be conducted with key research facilities under Simon Fraser University, including the WearTech Labs, which researches wearable technology.

Additionally, the four parties will engage in ▲sharing academic publications and information ▲sponsoring research projects ▲joint research, development, and implementation ▲business consulting ▲joint sponsorship of academic programs and discussions on administrative development ▲business exchanges and collaboration on the commercialization of core solutions.

Simon Fraser University is considered one of the prestigious universities in Western Canada with a global network and research infrastructure related to robotics. Human in Motion Robotics is a Canadian company that developed the bipedal exoskeleton robot Xomotion. The co-founders of Human in Motion Robotics, Siamak Arzanpour and Jeongwook Park (Edward Park), are roboticists and professors at Simon Fraser University.

Benoti&AR acquired Human in Motion Robotics last year to fully launch its robotics business and subsequently established a joint venture (JV), Human in Motion Robotics Asia, to target the domestic and Asia-Pacific markets. Based on cooperation with its robotics subsidiaries, Benoti&AR plans to release the rehabilitation model ‘Xomotion-R’ this year and introduce the personal model ‘Xomotion-P’ to the market next year.

Jeong Jib-hoon, CEO of Benoti&AR, stated, “To gain an advantage in the fully blossomed global robotics market, R&D innovation through exchanges with leading institutions is essential. Benoti&AR will expand its influence in the global wearable robot field based on excellent robotics subsidiaries and collaborative partners.”

Meanwhile, Xomotion is a wearable robot that assists bipedal walking for individuals with lower limb paralysis. It features ‘self-balancing’ technology, allowing the wearer to walk independently wearing only the robot without the need for sticks or other assistive devices. Xomotion supports the wearer’s natural gait with intelligent software and 12 actuators.
