Listening to Resident Opinions on Vision Setting and Detailed Project Directions for the Gangdong-gu Carbon Neutral Green Growth Basic Plan
Incorporating Survey Result Analysis into the Gangdong-gu Carbon Neutral Green Growth Basic Plan
The seriousness of the climate crisis has not just recently emerged as a social issue.
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) is also making multifaceted efforts every year to move closer to becoming a carbon-neutral green growth city by promoting policies and projects to achieve carbon neutrality and respond to the climate crisis.
The district operates practical, lifestyle-oriented projects and promotions such as Eco Mileage programs, installation of unmanned recycling collection machines (Nephron), and campaigns to reduce single-use products. In addition, last September, Gangdong Re&Upcycle Plaza was officially opened, serving as a resource circulation hub and cultural base in the southeastern area of Seoul, offering various resource circulation education and experience programs that have received great responses from residents.
Furthermore, the district announced on the 27th that it will conduct a survey to gather residents' opinions for establishing the 2024 Basic Plan for Carbon Neutral Green Growth.
The survey covers ▲ perception and awareness of the climate crisis ▲ awareness of greenhouse gas reduction policies ▲ vision and goals for greenhouse gas reduction ▲ priority policies by sector for greenhouse gas reduction ▲ education and resident action plans for greenhouse gas reduction.
Residents who wish to participate can visit their nearest community service center or use the QR code to participate online. The survey period runs for 17 days from February 26 to March 13.
Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “Responding to the climate crisis is a timely challenge that we all face,” and added, “We ask for active participation from residents interested in carbon neutrality so that Gangdong-gu can grow into a sustainable green city.”
Based on the survey results, the district plans to prepare implementation tasks and carbon neutrality response measures for greenhouse gas reduction by sector and year, and reflect them in the ‘Gangdong-gu Basic Plan for Carbon Neutral Green Growth.’
