Leading the Korea Cement Association since June 2018
The Korea Cement Association announced on the 26th that it held the 61st regular general meeting on the 23rd at the Hyatt Hotel in Namsan, Seoul, and reappointed Lee Hyun-jun, CEO of Ssangyong C&E, as the association president. Lee, who was appointed as president in June 2018, will lead the Korea Cement Association for another two years.

Lee, a graduate of Seoul National University’s Department of Business Administration, joined Ssangyong C&E in 1985 and has held key positions in various departments including business planning, logistics, production plants, legal affairs, public relations, and auditing. With this reappointment, Lee has set the record for the longest tenure among past association presidents.
After the reappointment decision, Lee expressed his thoughts, saying, “Based on the unwavering trust of the cement industry, I will devote myself even more to addressing the recent challenges of carbon-neutral greenhouse gas reduction and improving conditions for recycling circular resources necessary to solve national environmental issues.” He emphasized, “Even amid increasingly stringent environmental regulations, the cement industry will faithfully fulfill its role as a national key industry through stable and sustainable management. Centered on the Cement Association, we will prepare timely responses and effective solutions.”
Lee also stated, “To strengthen safety for achieving zero accidents at production sites, we will establish a Safety and Health Council within the association and enhance its role in discussing and sharing necessary improvements for site safety in the future.” He added, “We will quantitatively and qualitatively expand and develop various social contribution activities tailored to regional characteristics.”
