Opening of Next 5G·AI Life Theme Exhibition Hall
Various Experience Zones Including UAM·AIoT Available
CEO Kim Youngseop Discusses Current Issues with Global Leaders
KT will showcase various services incorporating super-large artificial intelligence (AI) and communication network technologies for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) at the world's largest mobile exhibition, 'MWC 2024.'
KT will set up a solo booth under the name 'Digital Innovation Partner Creating the Future' at MWC 2024, held from the 26th to the 29th in Barcelona, Spain.
The exhibition hall will be organized around two theme zones, Next 5G and AI Life, to present the future transformed by next-generation network technologies and AI innovation.
First, in the Next 5G zone, KT will unveil aviation communication network construction technology for UAM, a future transportation mode. Visitors can experience satellite-linked networks with enhanced stability and reliability, as well as futuristic relay technologies that enable high-quality communication for UAM passengers. The 'UAM Traffic Management System,' which allows optimal flight scheduling, will also be introduced.
Quantum cryptography communication technology to prevent hacking of wired and wireless networks will also be showcased. A special experience zone is set up to help general visitors easily understand the operating principles of quantum cryptography communication technology.
In the AI Life zone, an 'AI Contextual Advertising Service' utilizing large language models (LLM) is prepared. This service accurately understands the context of the content the user is engaged with and recommends optimal advertisements.
Visitors can also experience on-device AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) black box technology applied to shared kickboards, electric vehicle chargers, and smart signage for taxis. In collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the 'Geniverse Road Name Address' is provided, allowing users to learn road name addresses in a metaverse space. The 'Imagination for Tomorrow' sculpture, created through AI and human collaboration, is expected to attract visitors' interest.
A KT Partners Pavilion will also be established, inviting five excellent KT partner companies with global competitiveness to support overseas market expansion and growth.
Additionally, KT CEO Kim Young-seop is a board member of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), the organizer of the MWC event. As the representative of Korean telecom companies, he will attend the CEO board meeting to discuss ICT issues with global telecom leaders.
KT Vice President and Head of Technology Innovation Division, Oh Seung-pil, will be a speaker at the 'GTI Summit Keynote' held on the 27th. The GTI Summit is a side event of GTI, a technology standardization organization led by China Mobile and others. As KT CTO, he will deliver a presentation on AI strategies to drive future industries and explore ways to strengthen the global competitiveness of telecom operators in various ways throughout the event.
Vice President Oh said, "We plan to actively communicate with global telecom companies and related businesses by showcasing various ICT technologies at the local exhibition. We will make this an opportunity to upgrade the competitiveness of KT's innovative next-generation technologies to the next level."
