The American private unmanned spacecraft 'Odysseus,' which successfully landed on the moon, is estimated to have landed on its side and is lying sideways on the lunar surface, according to Intuitive Machines, the company that developed the spacecraft.

Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines, held an online press conference with NASA on the 23rd (local time) and explained, "Odysseus may have gently tipped over after its foot caught on the landing site," adding, "We believe the orientation of this lander is facing the (moon) surface."

He also added that the spacecraft's solar charging is functioning well and is at 100% charge.

Previously, on the day before, Intuitive Machines announced on its website and social media that "flight controllers confirmed Odysseus was standing vertically and began transmitting data." However, they reversed their explanation about the current status of the spacecraft on this day. CEO Altemus said Odysseus landed near the lunar south pole at 5:24 p.m. the previous day.
