Support of 250,000 KRW for 19-28 Year Olds Who Have Lived in the Province for Over 2 Years
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced on the 23rd that it will expand the support fund for the ‘Jeonnam Youth Culture Welfare Card’ from the existing 200,000 KRW to 250,000 KRW and recruit applicants throughout March.
The applicants must be youths aged 19 to 28 (born between 1996 and 2005) who have had an address in Jeonnam Province for more than two years as of March 1, 2022. Previous year recipients must also reapply this year to verify eligibility.
However, ▲public institution employees receiving welfare points (cards), ▲out-of-school youth education allowance recipients, and ▲Jeollanam-do female farmers and fishermen voucher recipients are excluded.
Additionally, those eligible for the Munhwa Nuri Card will receive only the difference of 120,000 KRW after deducting the 130,000 KRW Munhwa Nuri support fund.
The application period is from March 1 to 31, and applications can be submitted online via the Gwangju Bank website or in person at the local eup/myeon/dong community service centers.
The city will notify applicants of the results in early May after verifying eligibility. Previous year recipients will have points recharged on their existing cards, while new recipients must be issued separate cards.
The check card can only be used offline at designated merchants within the province for cultural activities or self-development such as attending performances, taking academy classes, traveling, and using sports facilities. Online, app, or kiosk payments are not allowed.
A city official stated, “This project is expected to improve the quality of cultural life for local youth, contribute to the influx of young population, and revitalize the local economy in the culture, sports, and tourism sectors.”
