In preparation for 6G, where uninterrupted network operation is expected to be the most critical factor, LG Uplus verified technology that provides stable service to customers through an Auto Healing function that automatically resolves issues such as ▲base station hardware failure ▲line problems between base stations ▲base station software failure.

Once commercialized, this technology will enable the expansion of equipment capacity and performance using cloud equipment when traffic increases, and automatically recover from network operation failures. Additionally, it will be possible to maintain network quality by automatically deploying the applications needed for recovery when network failures occur.

Previously, LG Uplus verified a common platform for building cloud base stations at its Magok office in collaboration with global platform manufacturers. It is also continuously researching cloud technologies to enhance network equipment survivability, such as establishing a 5G core equipment backup network on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.

LG Uplus plans to continuously verify new technologies to provide customers with the best network quality and prepare for 6G.

Lee Sangheon, Head of NW Advanced Development at LG Uplus, said, “We will continuously research next-generation network technologies to apply the latest digital transformation (DX) technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud to network infrastructure, ensuring stable service for customers.”

Ahn Taeho, Head of Nokia Korea, said, “Technologies that integrate openness, virtualization, and intelligence enable efficient and flexible network construction,” adding, “Our company will also continue to collaborate with LG Uplus for successful future network evolution.”
