Malaysia's King Ibrahim Al-Mahum Iskandar spent over 400 million won to win the bid for the 'Gold' license plate.

Malaysian media, including The Star, reported on the 22nd that King Ibrahim became the owner of the special edition 'Gold One (GOLD 1)' license plate with a winning bid of 1.5 million ringgit (approximately 420 million won). This is the highest bid amount for a Malaysian vehicle license plate. The bid amount will be handed over to the Malaysian federal government.

King Ibrahim received the license plate from the Minister of Transport on the 20th. The 'Gold' license plate series was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the federal territories. The starting bid for single-digit license plates was 20,000 ringgit (approximately 5.55 million won). Previously, in June last year, King Ibrahim won the bid for the 'FF1' license plate with 1.2 million ringgit (approximately 333 million won).

King Ibrahim, who ascended as Malaysia's 17th king in January, has a family fortune of at least 5.7 billion dollars (7.6 trillion won). He is known for owning several luxury cars including Ferrari and for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
