The renovation of Ward 52 at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital included installing bathrooms in each patient room to prevent infectious diseases and enhance patient satisfaction, as well as replacing interior finishes such as walls, floors, and ceilings. Actively reflecting patients' opinions, individual refrigerators were also installed in multi-patient rooms.
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has been continuously carrying out ward renovation projects, starting with the remodeling of Ward 21 last year, to transform into a patient-centered ward.
In particular, measures to address the shortage of beds are being promptly prepared. Before starting the renovation of Ward 52, a Bed Operation Committee was held, completing the construction of 16 beds in Section 1 of Ward 52 last year, and recently, the construction of 39 beds was also fully completed.
Hospital Director Jeong Yong-yeon said, “What inpatients need most is a clean environment,” adding, “This has become an opportunity to take a step further in practicing a patient-centered hospital. We will continue to carry out medical environment improvement projects to become a more trusted and beloved cancer hospital.”
