Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do held a direct transaction event to promote and sell excellent agricultural specialties at Jogyesa Temple in Seoul for three days from the 16th to the 18th.

According to the county on the 22nd, Jogyesa Temple, located in the heart of Jongno, Seoul, has been providing the venue free of charge since 2012, and Gangjin-gun has been maintaining continuous meetings with Buddhists and citizens once or twice a year. This year, more direct transaction events are planned to be held at Jogyesa Temple.

This event involved 11 companies from the Gangjin-gun Agricultural Specialties Direct Transaction Business Group, showcasing over 30 items including shiitake mushrooms, paprika, and seaweed, recording sales of about 30 million KRW. Agricultural specialties and processed foods such as shiitake mushrooms, jackdookong tea, and rice oat bread were very popular, proving the excellence of Gangjin agricultural specialties.

Amid recent consumption stagnation due to high prices, this event contributed to increasing the income of farmers and fishermen who are struggling to sell agricultural specialties, providing an opportunity to purchase high-quality excellent agricultural specialties. It is evaluated as a transaction that satisfies both producers and consumers simultaneously.

Hwang In-jun, Director of the Agricultural Policy Division, said, “We will continue to hold direct transaction events in large cities to promote the excellence of Gangjin agricultural specialties and do our best to secure sales channels to increase the income of farmers and fishermen.”

Meanwhile, Gangjin-gun plans to hold a direct transaction event from the 23rd to the 3rd of next month in the Daegu-myeon Gangjin Celadon Village area during the Gangjin Celadon Festival to introduce and showcase Gangjin-gun’s excellent agricultural specialties to tourists.
