Major League Baseball's Shohei Ohtani ranked second as the most ideal boss among new employees in Japan.
On the 22nd, Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance in Japan conducted a survey last December with over 2,000 participants (1,100 students and 880 working adults) on the 'ideal boss.' Shohei Ohtani ranked second as soon as he appeared in the survey items for the first time.
Ohtani is highly regarded not only in Japan but also worldwide, including the United States, for both his skills and character. He became especially famous for a speech he gave in the locker room before the final of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) last year.

He said, "We can never beat (the American players) by just admiring them. For today only, let's not admire them and focus solely on winning." Ohtani is also known for picking up trash. He picks up trash with the mindset of collecting luck that others carelessly discard. When he was a first-year high school student, he created a perfect training schedule to optimize his body as a baseball player. The Mandal-Art plan he created (a goal-achieving technique developed by a Japanese designer) also became a hot topic.
Ohtani's family is known for living normally despite his enormous income, and all family members are known not to spend or depend on Ohtani's money.
In the ideal boss survey, male celebrity Teruyoshi Uchimura ranked first for eight consecutive years, and female Japanese TV announcer Asami Miura took first place among women.
