A Guide Covering the Semiconductor Industry from Basics to AI Semiconductors
Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 22nd that it has published the 'Semiconductor ETF Guidebook,' which contains investment methods for semiconductor ETFs.
The Semiconductor ETF Guidebook broadly covers the semiconductor industry, from basic knowledge related to the industry such as semiconductor manufacturing processes and value chains to the latest technology trends like advanced packaging and on-device AI. It is a guidebook designed so that anyone can become a semiconductor investment expert with just one book.
Additionally, it introduces the characteristics of the semiconductor industries in countries such as Korea, the United States, and Taiwan, as well as TIGER ETFs available for investment in those countries. Mirae Asset Global Investments has the largest lineup of semiconductor investment ETFs in Korea. The total net assets of nine TIGER semiconductor ETFs amount to 3 trillion KRW, ranking first in net assets for both domestic and international semiconductor company investments.
The representative product of the TIGER semiconductor ETFs, the ‘TIGER Philadelphia Semiconductor Nasdaq ETF,’ which invests in global semiconductor companies, exceeded 1.8 trillion KRW in net assets as of the 21st. It is the largest among all semiconductor investment ETFs listed on the Korea Exchange. The ‘TIGER Fn Semiconductor TOP10 ETF,’ which focuses on the top 10 domestic semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, has grown to 700 billion KRW, ranking first in net assets among domestic semiconductor company investment ETFs. The ‘TIGER AI Semiconductor Core Process ETF,’ newly launched in November last year in line with the development of the AI semiconductor industry, has also grown to become the largest AI semiconductor ETF, attracting attention.
Mirae Asset Global Investments publishes guidebooks to easily deliver information that ETF investors should know. Prior to the ‘Semiconductor ETF Guidebook,’ it released the ‘Monthly Dividend ETF Guidebook’ and the ‘U.S. Investment Guidebook,’ which can be downloaded for free from the ‘ETF Guidebook’ menu on the TIGER ETF website.
Kim Byung-seok, manager of the ETF Management Division at Mirae Asset Global Investments, said, “With the recent expansion of AI-based services leading to improvements in the semiconductor market, there is increasing demand to invest in sectors within the semiconductor industry that have high growth potential.” He added, “We expect the Semiconductor ETF Guidebook to serve as an investment manual for investors who are unsure about which ETF to choose.”
