The committee consists of 10 members related to school meals, including the Director of the Gochang-gun Rural and Fisheries Industry Bureau as the chairman, county council members, representatives from the Gochang Office of Education, teacher and nutrition teacher representatives, representatives from the Agricultural Cooperative Gochang-gun Council, representatives from the Organic Farmers Association, and parent representatives.
This year, the county plans to support meal expenses of 3.339 billion KRW for 5,452 children and students from 79 institutions including daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary, middle, and high schools within the district.
Additionally, by using raw materials produced in Gochang for meals, the promotion of local agricultural products is encouraged, which directly and indirectly leads to increased income for residents.
Sung Hyun-seop, Director of the Rural Vitality Division of Gochang-gun, said, "We will continue to expand support projects to provide safe and healthy meals to local students."
