Doksan 4-dong Village Fund Committee Holds 'Exciting New Start! School Bag Sharing Event'
Distributes 100,000 Won School Bag Gift Certificates to 10 Low-Income Single-Parent Elementary, Middle, and High School New Students
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Doksan 4-dong Village Fund Committee held the "Exciting New Start! Backpack Sharing" event, providing 100,000 won backpack gift certificates to 10 low-income single-parent students entering elementary, middle, and high school.
The Doksan 4-dong Village Fund Committee (Chairman Kang Shin-hwan) has been continuing the backpack sharing program with village funds for four years since 2020.
The Doksan 4-dong Village Fund was established in 2016 with 20 million won in consolation money received by residents after a ready-mix concrete truck crashed into a utility pole in the Doksan-ro 82-gil area. The Village Fund Committee continues steady donation activities to support Doksan 4-dong residents in urgent need and local events.
Chairman Kang Shin-hwan said, "We prepared this sharing event to support the new start of children from single-parent families entering elementary, middle, and high school," adding, "We will continue to use the village fund to provide support to those in need in the community without hesitation."
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I am grateful for the warm sharing extended to low-income households facing economic difficulties due to many expenses ahead of the school entrance ceremony," and added, "We will actively identify vulnerable groups in need and provide welfare services."
