Priority Qualification and Benefits for Indirect Support Project Applications
‘Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Anti-Aging Festival,’ the largest herbal anti-aging festival in Korea, has been selected as an Honorary Cultural Tourism Festival for the second consecutive year.
According to Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, on the 21st, the government-designated Honorary Cultural Tourism Festival is selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from excellent cultural tourism festivals that have accumulated over 10 years, to strengthen festival competitiveness and foster world-class festivals.
With this selection, the Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Anti-Aging Festival is granted priority qualification for indirect support projects such as professional education and consulting, and the development of festival tourism products.
Since its first opening in 2001, the Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Anti-Aging Festival has firmly established itself as a representative festival of Korea, hosting the 2013 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Expo, being awarded the Best Festival from 2015 to 2018, designated as a Representative Festival in 2019, and selected as a government-designated Cultural Tourism Festival from 2020 to 2022.
In particular, last year, it received favorable reviews from tourists by offering more diverse and interesting attractions in connection with the 2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Anti-Aging Expo, held for the first time in 10 years.
Lee Seunghwa, the county governor, said, “The Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Anti-Aging Festival laid the foundation for the successful hosting of the 2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Anti-Aging Expo,” adding, “We will do our best to grow it into a global mega event enjoyed by people all over the world.”
Meanwhile, the 24th Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Anti-Aging Festival this year will be held from September 27 to October 6 at the Donguibogam Village area in Sancheong.
In line with the successful hosting of the expo, the festival is preparing various contents and programs that enhance its scale and quality, befitting the reputation and status of a world-class festival.
