The Sansam Anti-Aging Division of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, visited the Youth Policy Division of the Education and Youth Bureau of Gyeongnam Province on the 21st to secure national and provincial budget for the 2025 Regional Innovation Contest Project.
On this day, Kim Bok-su, head of the division, along with those in charge of the Sansam industry, visited the Education Policy Division of Gyeongnam Provincial Government to thoroughly explain the necessity of the contest project, the ‘Regional Innovation Contest Project (City/County/District Affiliated Project),’ and actively requested budget support for national and provincial projects related to realizing the dreams of local youth and establishing a foundation for a prosperous and comfortable life in response to population extinction.
Hamyang County is visiting Gyeongnam Province to request budget support for the regional innovation contest.
The Regional Innovation Contest Project is a project jointly implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, linked with the Local Extinction Response Fund investment to respond to the crisis of local extinction. Its purpose is to induce youth inflow and increase jobs in the aging region by linking with the locally specialized product, Sansam (wild ginseng).
In particular, rather than focusing on existing industrial facilities or fostering new businesses, the project emphasizes establishing a ‘Maker Space’ to create a place for youth harmony and build a collaborative system. At the same time, it aims to establish a system where local Sansam producers and processing companies can thrive together through planned product development among SMEs.
Kim Bok-su said, “To realize the industrialization of Sansam that we will create together with the youth, we will do our best to secure national and provincial budgets by frequently visiting related ministries such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as well as Gyeongnam Province.” He added, “We will also strive to enhance the value of Hamyang-gun’s Sansam, differentiated from other regions, and promote the sixth industrialization of Sansam, which consists of food, tourism, and experience.”
