The stock price of Shinshin Pharmaceutical, which announced the development of obesity and hair loss treatments using dissolvable microneedles applied inside the body, is showing strong performance. As of 10:55 AM on the 21st, Shinshin Pharmaceutical is trading at 7,090 KRW, up 1,020 KRW (16.80%) compared to the previous trading day.

On this day, Shinshin Pharmaceutical announced that it has established microneedle facilities to develop treatments for obesity and hair loss. Additionally, the established dissolvable microneedle facilities will be actively utilized for further therapeutic research and development.

Dissolvable microneedles, where the needles themselves contain the drug, are administered by the needles dissolving inside the body to deliver the medication. They can carry various components such as DNA and peptides regardless of molecular size, making their application fields broad. Another advantage is the ease of mass production. Dissolvable microneedles are mainly used in cosmetics.

Last month, Shinshin Pharmaceutical completed a patent application for a microneedle composition for pharmaceutical administration.
