Goseong-gun Dementia Specialized Nursing Home Reopens... Providing Healthy Later Life for Seniors

Goseong County Dementia Specialized Nursing Home, located in Daedok-ri, Goseong-eup, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, is accelerating its operations to provide a healthy old age through nursing, care, and rehabilitation treatment for elderly people who have difficulty with daily life due to senile diseases.

The Goseong County Dementia Specialized Nursing Home was closed for about a year starting in October 2022, but reopened last November through a consignment contract with the social cooperative NoinseSang.

Overlooking Goseong Nampo Port, the Goseong County Dementia Specialized Nursing Home currently offers a comfortable facility and a stable care environment for its residents, as well as various activities such as cultural performances, hairdressing, and health gymnastics.

As a result, the elderly are living healthy lives, and the nursing home is filled with the sound of their laughter.

In particular, Elder Kim, who had a feeding disorder and used a tube for nutrition, has gradually improved and now requests bibimbap with lots of greens, while Elder Park, who mostly lived lying in bed, is now walking on his own, leading to continuous expressions of gratitude from their families.

County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “We will actively support the stable operation of the Goseong County Dementia Specialized Nursing Home to reduce the psychological and economic burdens of elderly people suffering from senile diseases and their families.”

Meanwhile, the Goseong County Dementia Specialized Nursing Home has a capacity of 64 people, with 40 currently admitted. In particular, even without a dementia diagnosis, those who have been assessed with long-term care grades (grades 1?2, grades 3?5 (facility benefits)) can be admitted through consultation.
