Recruitment of Medical Institutions for Operation Project Participation Until March 4

Busan City is recruiting medical institutions to participate in this year's Busan-type Pediatric Medical System Operation Project until March 4.
The Busan-type Pediatric Medical System Operation Project is designed to alleviate gaps in pediatric medical care and consists of three detailed projects: ▲ operation of 24-hour pediatric emergency medical institutions ▲ payment of regional settlement allowances to pediatric residents ▲ operation of a holiday rotation duty system at children's hospitals.
First, medical institutions to operate '24-hour pediatric emergency medical institutions' are being recruited.
Following last year, this project will continue this year to ensure that pediatric patients with moderate symptoms receive timely treatment through 24-hour care by pediatric specialists.
Recruitment targets university hospital-level medical institutions capable of providing 24-hour pediatric emergency care, and selected participating institutions will receive up to 500 million KRW per institution to support dedicated personnel salaries and other expenses.
Next, medical institutions for payment of regional settlement allowances to pediatric residents are being recruited.
This is the first recruitment targeting pediatric resident training hospitals located in Busan. Due to the serious shortage of pediatric residents, especially in essential care, Busan City will pilot a regional settlement allowance of 1 million KRW per month per resident to encourage pediatric residents to settle, train, and work in Busan.
Finally, medical institutions to participate in the holiday rotation duty system at children's hospitals are being recruited.
The holiday rotation duty system targets children's hospitals located in Busan. Since some children's hospitals only provide Sunday morning consultations, extending consultation hours until 6 p.m. will be pilot-supported with 625,000 KRW per session.
Medical institutions wishing to participate can download the application forms from the city website or the local subsidy portal's announcement section, complete them, and apply through the local subsidy portal.
For more details, check the announcements on the city website or the local subsidy management system, or contact the City Health and Hygiene Division.
Lee Sora, Director of the City Citizen Health Bureau, said, “We ask for the interest and participation of Busan medical institutions in this project to help eliminate gaps in pediatric care occurring during nights and holidays,” adding, “Our city will continue to pay close attention to expanding the pediatric emergency medical system and do its best to ensure timely provision of pediatric medical services.”
