Socar Participates in 'Rediscovering Local, 2024 Travel Month'... Up to 50% Discount and 30,000 Credits Offered

Socar announced on the 21st that it will officially participate in the "Rediscovery of Local, 2024 Travel Month" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This event will run until the 31st of next month to revitalize the domestic tourism industry and local economy. KTX tickets for all routes are discounted by 50% on weekdays and 30% on weekends. During this period, Socar will additionally provide customers who book KTX bundle products through the application with credits equivalent to 30% of the booking amount per reservation (up to 30,000 credits for round-trip ticket purchases), which can be used like cash within the Socar app, on top of the existing ticket discount.

The provided credits are automatically granted after completing the train ride and can be used for services such as car sharing and electric bicycles within the Socar app. The benefits apply only to purchases made by the 31st of next month, and usage is available on selected dates from the 1st of next month until April 14.

To use the service, during the purchase period, click the "Socar and KTX" menu in the Socar app, search and book the desired KTX train and seat, then reserve a vehicle at a Socar zone near the destination. One-way service allowing vehicle return at the desired location is also available, as well as the call service that lets users pick up and return vehicles at their preferred locations. The KTX fares queried within the purchase period will automatically display discounted prices depending on the usage date, and the maximum 30,000 credits provided exclusively by Socar will be automatically credited after train use.

The KTX bundle product, first introduced by Socar and Korail in December 2022, is a service for customers who want to use both train and car sharing simultaneously. It allows booking KTX tickets for all routes and car sharing at the nearest Socar zone to the arrival station in one go through the Socar app. Over the past year, customers who used the KTX bundle product received an average discount benefit of 10,651 KRW per transaction, and 6 out of 10 customers used discounted car-sharing vehicles at Socar zones near the arrival station for an average of 22.1 hours.
