Opened on the Theme of Democracy for Future Generations
The government will hold the 3rd Democracy Summit over three days from the 18th to the 20th of next month.
The Presidential Office announced on the afternoon of the 20th, "Our government plans to hold the 3rd Democracy Summit under the theme 'Democracy for Future Generations' from the 18th to the 20th of next month."
On the first day of the summit, the 18th of next month, there will be a ministerial meeting and an expert roundtable; on the 19th, thematic discussions and workshops led by domestic and international civil society; and on the evening of the 20th, the main summit session will be held virtually.

The Democracy Summit is a virtual international conference first held in December 2021 by U.S. President Joe Biden, focusing on three main agendas: "defense against authoritarianism," "fight against corruption," and "respect and promotion of human rights."
The 2nd Democracy Summit held in March last year was co-hosted by the United States, South Korea, the Netherlands, Zambia, and Costa Rica.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken may visit South Korea in connection with this Democracy Summit.
