Hwaseong City Opens 'Baby Boomer Happiness Campus' for Middle-Aged Residents

14 Courses Including Certification Acquisition and Humanities

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it is recruiting students for the 'Baby Boomer Happiness Campus,' a program supporting retired or soon-to-retire middle-aged individuals.


The 'Baby Boomer Happiness Campus' is an educational project jointly promoted by Hwaseong City and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kyeongseong University to support the life transition of the baby boomer generation through educational programs, community activities, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Hwaseong City Opens 'Baby Boomer Happiness Campus' for Middle-Aged Residents

The recruitment courses for the first half of this year consist of 14 courses, including 7 certification courses such as ▲Coffee Barista ▲Flower Tea Sommelier ▲Pet Food Specialist ▲Art Psychology Counselor ▲Senior Specialist Counselor, and 7 humanities courses. Each course will enroll 15 students, totaling 210 students.


Anyone aged 50 to 69 residing in Gyeonggi Province can participate. Those wishing to enroll can apply through the 'Hwaseong Baby Boomer Happiness Campus' website by the 10th of next month. To expand educational opportunities, the city will accept priority applications from new participants until the 29th of this month. Classes will be held at Kyeongseong University and will begin on the 19th of next month.


A Hwaseong City official stated, "Through educational programs for middle-aged and older adults linked with local universities, we will support the successful re-advancement of the baby boomer generation."
