Financial information company FnGuide announced on the 20th that it has obtained a patent for a "method for generating integrated corporate news using structured data, unstructured mixed data, and corporate news, and a device and system utilizing the same."
This patent is a technology that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to extract information necessary for corporate investment from various data and provide it in the form of summarized news. In addition to the financial database (DB) owned by FnGuide, it refines data extracted from corporate disclosures such as business performance and business reports, as well as data obtainable from various sources, and converts them into news article formats. It also clusters corporate news by issue to generate integrated corporate summary news.
FnGuide has been operating an in-house AI research organization since 2018 and has continuously invested in technology development. It already holds a patent for "sentiment analysis on stock items using news articles" based on AI technology. The acquisition of this patent technology is said to have elevated AI technology specialized in finance to the next level.
An FnGuide official stated, "Although large language models such as ChatGPT are rapidly advancing, only experimental content is still rampant in the financial information sector," adding, "Based on the technology related to this patent, we will provide services that dramatically reduce the time investors spend gathering and analyzing information, thereby creating real value."
