Utilizing Pristine Natural Environment and Medical Infrastructure... Health Promotion and Economic Revitalization
Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for the Naju·Hwasun electoral district, announced the 'Creating a Premium Green Hwasun' plan, which includes expanding medical-linked forest healing facilities, leading various types of forest projects, and supporting the cultivation of distinctive forest resources.
According to candidate Shin on the 19th, Hwasun's total area is 787㎢, of which 73.2% (576㎢) is forest land. It boasts abundant forest resources such as Mudeungsan, Mohusan, Baegasan, and Manyeonsan, and is equipped with four forest recreation facilities including Baegasan·Hancheon, Mudeungsan Hinoki Natural Recreation Forest, and Manyeonsan Healing Forest Center. The National Hwasun Healing Forest has also been established on Yongamsan.
The plan aims to utilize this infrastructure not only to contribute to health promotion but also to stimulate the local economy.
Candidate Shin's 'Creating a Premium Green Hwasun' pledge includes the continuous expansion of medical-linked forest healing facilities, leading various types of forest projects, and supporting the cultivation of distinctive forest resources.
By linking Hwasun's ecological and scenic resources with medical infrastructure, the plan promotes the continuous expansion of facilities that combine treatment, healing, and rest. The goal is to develop Hwasun into a mecca of forest healing.
Additionally, the plan aims to lead various types of forest projects by cultivating forest resources with ecological, environmental, and economic value. Through forest trail creation projects, afforestation projects, and forest tending projects, the forest will be developed into a resource valuable both economically and environmentally.
It also seeks to create jobs and increase income for forestry workers through specialized cultivation of Baegasan flower mushrooms and wild garlic.
Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon stated, “Hwasun not only has a pristine natural environment and geographical advantages but also medical infrastructure such as Chonnam National University Hospital and the vaccine industry special zone. By utilizing these forest and medical resources to create customized specialized spaces, we will strive to promote the health of local residents and tourists as well as revitalize the local economy.”
