Cheongsong-gun Youth After-School Academy, 'Virtual Convergence Technology' Winter Vacation Career Experience

The Cheongsong-gun Youth After-School Academy in Gyeongbuk conducted the ‘Winter Vacation Career Experience Virtual Convergence Technology-XR’ program from the 13th to the 14th.

Winter Vacation Career Experience: Cheongsong-gun Youth After-School Academy Meets Virtual Convergence Technology.

The ‘Winter Vacation Career Experience Virtual Convergence Technology-XR’ program was designed to help young people make career decisions through future career experiences using VR content in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and to provide opportunities to build confidence by experiencing and preparing for skills related to jobs that will be spotlighted in the future.

On the day, about 40 youths participated to learn the basic concepts and applications of virtual convergence technology (XR), and experienced things impossible in reality such as piloting an aircraft, participating in the production of a space launch vehicle using domestic technology, astronaut training, and virtual sports in the metaverse space.

A youth who participated in the program said, “The space experience was fun because it felt like reality, and it was amazing to learn how to live on a space station,” adding, “I didn’t realize how quickly time passed while experiencing things I can’t do in real life.”

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “I hope this activity served as a good opportunity to broaden the career choices for young people,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various experience programs so that youths can have a wide range of experiences.”
