ResearchAlum predicted on the 19th that Dream Security would benefit as deepfakes abusing artificial intelligence (AI) technology increase.
Woo Hwirang, a researcher at ResearchAlum, explained, "The world's biggest interest is the US presidential election," adding, "Concerns about the mass production of fake news are growing as deepfakes are deployed."
He continued, "Looking at the cases of T?rkiye and Slovakia, where elections were held last year, fake videos and audio using deepfakes were leaked just before voting, significantly influencing the election results," and added, "In January this year, deepfake sexual exploitation materials using Taylor Swift spread in the US entertainment industry."
Researcher Woo analyzed, "The importance of cybersecurity regarding AI technology is increasing across American society," and "The stock prices of major US cybersecurity companies and ETFs are achieving higher returns compared to major US stock indices." He predicted, "With the general election coming up in April, there is no exception to AI threats such as deepfakes," and "Interest in domestic cybersecurity companies will grow."
He also stated, "In November last year, Dream Security's quantum key management system (QKMS) product 'MagicQKM' became the first in Korea to obtain security verification from the National Intelligence Service," adding, "Quantum key management equipment is one of the three core devices of quantum cryptographic communication." He emphasized, "It performs lifecycle management roles such as receiving quantum key distribution secret keys, storing processed keys, supplying and providing keys, and destroying unnecessary keys," and "MagicQKM is continuously improved through quantum cryptographic key management source technology transferred from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information."
Researcher Woo estimated, "No other companies have received security verification for quantum cryptographic communication equipment from government agencies such as the National Intelligence Service," and expressed expectations that "It will be easier to secure additional clients such as public institutions through the National Intelligence Service security verification reference."
