Geumcheon-gu to Provide Up to 61 Million KRW for Maintenance Expenses of Apartment Complexes

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is recruiting apartment complexes to participate in the ‘Apartment Maintenance Project Expense Support’ program, aimed at creating a pleasant and safe residential environment within apartment complexes, until March 15.

This project supports part of the expenses for the maintenance of common and welfare facilities installed within apartment complexes. Last year, a total of 234 million KRW was supported for 16 complexes, receiving high praise from residents.

This year, the district significantly increased the budget for the support project to 610 million KRW. The ‘Seoul Geumcheon-gu Apartment Management Support Ordinance’ was revised last year to expand support in the safety sector. Eligible projects include flood damage prevention facilities, tree pruning, automatic opening and closing devices for rooftop doors, exterior wall repairs, and rooftop waterproofing works.

Support is provided up to 61 million KRW per complex, covering 50-70% of the required project expenses. The support projects include community activation projects and maintenance of common facilities.

In particular, priority support will be given to ▲ disaster safety facilities and aging electrical facilities directly related to residents’ safety ▲ small-scale apartments facing management difficulties due to lack of management entities ▲ environmental and energy sectors, traffic safety facility sectors ▲ installation and improvement projects for apartment management workers’ workplaces ▲ facility-related projects considering socially vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, children, women).

Applications can be made by representatives of small-scale apartments with 20 or more households located in Geumcheon-gu who have obtained consent from at least four-fifths of the residents, and by management entities (management offices or residents’ representative meetings) of mandatory management complexes.

Application documents can be downloaded from the ‘Geumcheon News’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and must be submitted by visiting the Housing Division of Geumcheon-gu Office or by mail by March 15.

For small-scale apartments without management entities that find it difficult to apply, direct visits will be made to assist with the application process.

The district divides the recruitment for the support project into two rounds in the first and second halves of the year to prevent complexes from missing application opportunities due to time-consuming procedures such as obtaining residents’ consent. In the first half, 70% of the total project budget will be supported, and 30% in the second half. The announcement for the second half project will be provided separately later.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “Apartments are not only living spaces but also workplaces for many residents, so they should be given top priority support. We will continue to do our best to discover and operate apartment support projects to create happy apartment communities.”

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Housing Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
