2024 Gokseong-gun Regional Innovation Council Meeting Held
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it held the '2024 Gokseong-gun Regional Innovation Council' at the county office's Communication Maru.
The council is a public-private cooperation advisory body consisting of a total of 20 members, including County Governor Lee Sang-cheol, policy advisory committee members, county council members, private experts, and local representatives. It is responsible for deliberating and coordinating topics such as regional balanced development projects, responses to the population decline crisis, and regional development plans.
At this meeting, the direction of county administration for 2024 was shared, and various measures to promote locally-led regional balanced development and strengthen local autonomy and decentralization were explored.
Additionally, the 2024 population decline response implementation plan was deliberated and approved, and in-depth discussions were held on this year’s strategic projects aimed at expanding the living population, creating jobs within the region, nurturing talent, and improving residential conditions.
Governor Lee Sang-cheol stated, “To overcome the crisis of population decline and local extinction, it is important to establish creative and innovative regional development strategies,” and added, “We will continue to have opportunities to gather diverse opinions centered on the Regional Innovation Council.”
The Gokseong-gun Regional Innovation Council will be reorganized and operated as the ‘Gokseong-gun Local Era Committee’ in accordance with the ‘Special Act on Local Autonomy Decentralization and Regional Balanced Development’ in the future.
